Addison Rae's copper hair — how to keep yours fresh
Warm tones are having their biggest moment in years. But copper and brunette shades fade faster than almost any other colour. Here's how to make yours last.
When Addison Rae performed at Coachella 2026 with a deep burnished copper, quickly dubbed "Desert Rose" by her colourist, warm tones shot straight to the top of every salon request list. If you're already wearing a copper, chestnut or a toffee shade, you'll know the struggle: the colour looks incredible leaving the salon, and then it tends to fade fast.
The red and copper pigments that give those shades their richness are larger molecules than cool tones, which means they sit closer to the surface of the hair and rinse out faster. Within a few weeks, that vibrant copper can start to look brassy, dull or flat.
The solution isn't necessarily another salon appointment. It's what you do at home between visits.
Why warm colour fades so fast
(Matt Rez)
-
Week 1–2: Peak vibrancy. Fresh from the salon, your colour is at its richest. Warm tones glow under any light.
-
Week 3–4: Tone begins to shift. Red and copper pigments start washing away, leaving behind brassier, flatter undertones.
-
Week 5+: Significant fade, without maintenance, warm colour can look noticeably different to how it did on day one.

Color Depositing Treatment — Truffle
150ml · Warm brown · Colour deposit + deep conditioning
Used in place of your regular conditioner, this treatment deposits a soft veil of warm truffle-brown pigment back into the hair while deeply nourishing each strand. It won't change your colour, it refreshes and extends it, keeping the warmth alive between salon visits.
- Refreshes warm tone
- Deposits warm truffle pigment to top up fading colour and restore depth without altering your overall shade.
- Nourishes as it works, hair feels noticeably softer and more supple from the very first use.
How to use it

Who it works for
Copper & red shades
The shades that fade fastest benefit most. Weekly use keeps that burnished richness from washing away too quickly.
Toffee & caramel balayage
Stops the warm dimension in your balayage from going flat and keeps the tones looking freshly blended.
Chestnut & mahogany brunettes
Extends the life of your colour service and keeps the richness going well beyond week two.
Natural warm brunettes
No colour service needed — Truffle adds a subtle warmth and shine boost to natural dark hair.
Used consistently, this is the kind of product your hairdresser notices before you say anything. Less frequent touch-ups, better colour integrity between visits, and hair that feels as good as it looks. It won't replicate a fresh colour service — but it will make your last one go a lot further.
